Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to Common Questions:

Why only water?

Using soaps or other anti-bacterials each time you use the bathroom could irritate the sensitive skin in that area with such frequent use.

Can men and women use it?

Yes - very much. uSPRITZ can be used to clean the bum - turn the nozzle if you prefer a focussed water stream for this area. But uSPRITZ is also gentle so that its perfect for women to use at the front. IMPORTANT is that women always SPRAY BACKWARDS so the bacteria from the bottom is always sprayed AWAY from the woman's urethra and vagina.

Can it prevent Urinary Tract Infections?

Most UTIs are caused when bacteria from the woman's bottom (or in some cases the vagina) makes its way into the urethra and causes an infection. uSPRITZ keeps the urethra SHOWER clean - much cleaner than with loo paper alone - because it flushes away bacteria in all our little folds and crevices around the urethra. IMPORTANT is always to spray FROM THE FRONT . Spraying from the back risks bacteria from the ladies bottom being sprayed into the direction of the urethra. Like with toilet paper "always wipe backwards" this is the best way to avoid UTIs. Once a UTI infection has started, only anti-biotics from a doctor can stop the progression of a UTI. Some women suffer from Chronic UTIs where the bacteria that keeps re-infecting them is inside the body, hiding under a micro-film - and so no amount of water can help this.

How long does charge last & how do I recharge?

With regular daily use, a single charge should last you 3 months . Just plug it in with the USB cable provided to recharge - as you would recharge your phone.

Can I use warm water?

Yes - if

Does it matter which way I point it?

YES - with women it is important to always SPRAY BACKWARDS so that bacteria from the bottom area are sprayed AWAY from the urethra and vagina. To clean the front 'lady-bits' simply hold uSPRITZ at the front of you, to spray behind you. Similarly if you have been operated on, spray in the direction of keeping any bacteria away from the wound or affected area.

Is it like a Douche?

No. A douche is inserted into the body's cavities to clean internally. uSPRITZ is used like a shower and therefore all cleaning happens on the outside.

Is it safe?

YES - uSPRITZ is just water. So use it as you would a shower head. As long as you don't pour boiling water into the bottle, don't try adding detergents which can affect the PH in these sensitive areas , and ways spray bacteria from the bottom away from our precious lady bits, its very very safe - and could help you avoid UTIs (Urinary Tract Infections) .
